A: GumGum is the largest in-image advertising platform, reaching over 150 million unique users worldwide. We work with hundreds of the largest premium web properties, and our advertising partners are the leading brands across consumer packaged goods, consumer electronics, entertainment, automotive, retail, and several other major categories.
A: The Internet is flush with traditional banner ads, and users have become so accustomed to them that they are clicking less often. This translates to less revenue for publishers. In-image ads are a new and exciting way to drive meaningful revenue without compromising your existing inventory.
A: Please consider applying to our partnership and revenue share program if you publish any content, news, media and entertainment, or informational site or blog that receives at least 500,000 monthly page views, is written in English and attracts a primarily US-based audience. For more information, please see our Partner Site Criteria.
A: We do not require a specific number of unique visitors, but we are currently only accepting publishers whose sites receive a combined total of at least 500,000 monthly page views.
A: Our in-image ad units include banner ads and rich media ad units. Depending on the size of the image, there are a variety of different units that could be displayed. Here is a complete list of supported ad sizes:
A: Describing each photo with HTML alt text improves our ability to target ads. Be as specific as possible: telling us it is a picture of a "car" helps, but "BMW 3 Series" is better.
A: Zones differentiate your sites - each site will need to be designated with its own unique zone. Additionally, you can use zones to track the revenue from different sections of your site separately. For example, you may wish to create unique zones for each category of content on your site, such as News, Sports, Entertainment, Technology, etc.
A: There may be a problem with your HTML which can interfere with our ability to position the ads within the images. Please check for errors by entering your page URL here. The most common errors are unclosed HTML elements.
A: This is often caused by errors in the HTML or CSS source code of the web page. Try validating your page here and see if any errors are identified. It is also important to make sure that the GumGum embed code is positioned in the footer of the page immediately above the closing body tag.
A: Please confirm that you are using the correct email address and password. If the login still doesn't work, it may be a password problem. Click on the "Forgot Password" button to reset your password. If that doesn't work, there may be a login loop. To fix, please delete your browser's cache and cookies, restart your browser and try again. If the problem still persists, contact us at support@gumgum.com with the error message and your email address.
A: GumGum's payment terms are net 60 days. Our publisher payment process is completely automated, so there is no need to invoice us. Once your account balance reaches $50, a payment will automatically be sent during our next payment cycle. For example, if your account reaches $50 in June, you will receive payment by the end of August. All payments are sent through Paypal or check.
A: We only count page views where we display in-image ads. Since we can only display ads on pages that contain full-size images - defined as images larger than 250 x 250 pixels - it is not unusual for our page view counts to differ from your analytics data.
A: The "Reporting" page can display earnings up through yesterday. Since our payment terms are net 60 days, this may include earnings that are not yet ready to be paid on the current payment cycle.
