General

  • Q: What is In-Image Advertising?
  • A: In-image advertising is a term used to describe targeted ads overlaid on images.
  • Q: What is GumGum?
  • A: GumGum is the largest in-image advertising platform, reaching over 150 million unique users worldwide. We work with hundreds of the largest premium web properties, and our advertising partners are the leading brands across consumer packaged goods, consumer electronics, entertainment, automotive, retail, and several other major categories.
  • Q: Why should I display ads on my images?
  • A: The Internet is flush with traditional banner ads, and users have become so accustomed to them that they are clicking less often. This translates to less revenue for publishers. In-image ads are a new and exciting way to drive meaningful revenue without compromising your existing inventory.
  • Q: Will in-image ads conflict with existing ads on my website?
  • A: Not at all. Our in-image ads work alongside standard ad units and networks, such as Google AdSense.

Technical Difficulties

  • Q: After installing the code, ads are not showing up on my website. Why?
  • A:
    • Make sure that the GumGum code is embedded directly above the closing body tag in the footer of the page.
    • Are the images smaller than 250x250 in size? Ads will only display on images larger than 250x250.
    • The z-index for your images may be set higher than our ads. Check to make sure your z-index is less than 10,000.
    • Still having problems? Contact us at support@gumgum.com and we'll be happy to help.
  • Q: Why are ads appearing outside of my images?
  • A: There may be a problem with your HTML which can interfere with our ability to position the ads within the images. Please check for errors by entering your page URL here. The most common errors are unclosed HTML elements.
  • Q: Why are the ads not aligning properly at the bottom of my images?
  • A: This is often caused by errors in the HTML or CSS source code of the web page. Try validating your page here and see if any errors are identified. It is also important to make sure that the GumGum embed code is positioned in the footer of the page immediately above the closing body tag.
  • Q: Why can't I log in at GumGum.com?
  • A: Please confirm that you are using the correct email address and password. If the login still doesn't work, it may be a password problem. Click on the "Forgot Password" button to reset your password. If that doesn't work, there may be a login loop. To fix, please delete your browser's cache and cookies, restart your browser and try again. If the problem still persists, contact us at support@gumgum.com with the error message and your email address.
