Ophir Tanz
Chief Executive Officer

As the CEO and founder of GumGum, Ophir Tanz revolutionized the advertising industry with the creation of the first and world’s largest in-image advertising platform. Recently, Ophir was recognized for the success of GumGum’s in-image monetization solution with the Siemer Summit’s Innovation in Advertising Award and was featured on the cover of Entrepreneur magazine. In addition, Ophir acts as an advisor to the local Los Angeles startup community, including Binksty, where student loans are made simple and BetterYou, an online concierge for fitness, beauty and health.

Prior to launching GumGum in 2007, Ophir was the CEO and co-founder of Mojungle.com, a mobile media-sharing platform that was sold to Shozu.com in 2007. Before this, Ophir co-founded and sold Fluidesign, an award-winning interactive and branding agency.

Ophir holds a B.S. and a M.S. from Carnegie Mellon University. Outside of GumGum, Ophir is an active member of the Los Angeles startup and advertising community attending and speaking at various events and conferences around Silicon Beach.

Ken Weiner
Chief Technology Officer

As the Chief Technology Officer for GumGum, Ken Weiner applies over a decade of information technology expertise to lead his team in product architecture, implementation and company operations for the world’s largest in-image ad network. At GumGum, Ken leverages Amazon EC2, Hadoop and HBase to build a scalable in-image ad server. Prior to GumGum, Ken was the Director of Engineering at LowerMyBills.com for the debt and education industry verticals. In 2003, he consulted at Unicon to create uPortal, the leading open source web portal framework for the higher education community. After graduating from UCLA with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1995, Ken began his career as the Product Engineer for TRW, Inc. where he designed test equipment for communication satellites.

Ken takes an active role in the information technology industry and can be seen speaking at conferences and attending prominent industry groups like Los Angeles CTO Forum and Los Angeles Hadoop Users Group. He also likes to have industry discussion on his Twitter account @kweiner. Away from the office, Ken enjoys mountain biking, hiking, studying California native plants and saxophone.

Robert Elder
Senior Vice President of Sales

Robert is an accomplished and well-respected expert in digital media, overseeing GumGum’s brand sales strategy and national sales team. He brings over 11 successful years of digital advertising sales and management to his role as Senior Vice President.

Before joining GumGum, Robert Elder built and managed the digital sales organization for Independent Television Networks (ITN), the largest un-wired television network in the country. ITN Digital is a local online video and display network consisting of over 5,000 local newspaper, television and radio websites.

In addition to sales positions with Maxim Online and Sony Digital Entertainment, Robert held several key sales positions at Internet Broadcasting where he oversaw strategic and east coast sales initiatives across IB's 80+ TV station partner sites.

Robert first joined IB as National Sales Director for NBCOlympics.com for the 2004 and 2006 Olympic Games – a joint venture. He built strong relationships with Olympic sponsors and Fortune 100 advertisers helping to deliver profitability for the first time.

Robert volunteers with The Tom Deierlein Foundation that works to improve the lives of Iraqi and Afghani children. He earned a B.A. in History from Fairfield University. He and his wife, Danielle, live in Manhattan with their two children.

Phil Schraeder
Vice President of Finance

Phil Schraeder joins GumGum as the Vice President, Finance responsible for financial planning, management, accounting, controls and human resources. He has over 13 years of experience in the fields of financial management, accounting, M&A, operations and human resource management. Phil’s worked in a variety of industries, including technology, media/entertainment, and public accounting.

Prior to joining GumGum, Phil was VP of Finance at Verifi, Inc., a full-service provider of global electronic payment and risk management solutions for card-not-present (CNP) merchants where he was responsible for the financial operations and forecasting. Prior to joining Verifi, Phil also oversaw the accounting and reporting functions for RealD, Inc, a leading global licensor of stereoscopic (three-dimensional), or 3D, technologies providing a premium 3D viewing experience in the theater, the home and elsewhere, where he was also heavily involved in the strategic acquisition of a key supplier, equity raise of $50 million, and implementation of their ERP system. Prior to RealD, Phil spent 4 years at New Regency Entertainment where he was the Manager of Finance responsible for financial modeling and reporting on feature films.

Phil began his career at KPMG, LLP in Chicago after he earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy with a minor in Communications from Northern Illinois University.
